Planning for a Bright future
The Brightside Project completed Phase I of its building project in late 2024. The Northeast Ohio nonprofit is now located at 1909 N. Ellsworth Avenue in Salem, Ohio. This larger space has enabled The Brightside Project to expand its reach, serving children not only in Columbiana County but also in rural Mahoning County. Additionally, the new facility has facilitated more targeted programming, including events for teens, community gatherings, and more. The Capital Campaign is currently raising funds to support Phases II and III of the building project. Will you be the spark to help The Brightside Project plan for a bright future?
Phases II & III
Phase II to be completed by Fall 2025
Phase II includes a child-friendly “shopping” Main Street experience complete with interactive displays encouraging them to make good choices as they “shop” during our Food for Kids events. This section of the building will include a fresh fruit stand, and a pharmacy-style counter for kids to pick out hygiene items, learn basic first aid, and more. The Main Street experience will also include cooler and freezer space, a waiting area and more. The cost of Phase II is estimated to be $205,000. See below to learn how to give to Phase II
Phase III to be completed by 2027
Phase III will include storage for The Sunshine Bus, warehouse space, an indoor recreation space, and additional classrooms. More details on Phase III coming soon.

Why this Matters
At The Brightside Project, our mission is to empower children to reach their full potential. We believe that in order to thrive, children must be lifted out of poverty, freed from trauma, and encouraged to discover their passion. With a larger space, we can provide these children with the resources they need to heal and grow, while offering programs to help them find their spark.
By becoming a Capital Campaign donor, your contribution will help children find hope and purpose amid trauma, poverty, anxiety, and uncertainty. We prioritize keeping administrative costs low, so your donation can make the greatest impact.
If you have any questions about donating to the Capital Campaign, please email scott@brightsideprojectohio.org or call (234) 320-4005. We’d be happy to meet with you and discuss how you can make a difference. Pledges can be paid out over a three-year period.
